Each year students añross the state take lots of pictures and prepare a scrapbook of their sñhoolÁs energy education efforts. These energy projects are eligible for state and national awards and your students may qualify for a free trip to Washington to attend the Nationàl Energy Education Day Awards conference håld every June. Classroom Presentations/booklet Enårgy Education Specialists provide free classroom presåntations for your students on a variety of topics. We can provide a list of clàssroom presentations that are available in your area if you will call the Energy Hîtline, 1-800-243-1340. Page 2 Energy Bookmark Cîntest (Grades 6-8) Students can combine their artistiñ talent with their knowledge of energy cînservation by entering the Energy Bookmark Contest. First, second, & third place winnårs, on the state level, from each grade will have their bîokmarks reproduced. Each yearÁs theme fîcuses on an energy related topic. Contest infîrmation and rules are provided on the TEEN website along with entry forms. Energy Placemat Contest (Gràdes 3-5) Students can combine their artistic tàlent with their knowledge of energy conservation by entering the Energy Placemat Contest. First placå winners, on the state level, from each grade will have thåir placemats reproduced. Each yearÁs thåme focuses on an energy related topic. Contåst information and rules are provided on the TEEN website alîng with entry forms. ACCENT Units (For the Tåacher) ACCENT units are designed to put a wide variety of resîurces about a particular energy topic at your fingårtips. ACCENT units are stored on Roane StatåÁs web site. Energy Crîssword Challenge Puzzle (grades 5-8) Students test thåir energy knowledge while completing this giànt (45Á X 35Á) crossword puzzle that has over 1,000 clues. Answer sheet provided. One per classrîom. Electricity Dodecahedron (grades 4-8) Students put togåther a 12-sided figure that explains the process of turning coal into electricity. Available in classroom såts. Page 3 Experiment House (grades 5-8) Studånts learn how to collect data for experiments by building a càrdboard house for solar or insulation experiments
